Memphis defeats UNLV in season opener behind strong defensive play

Memphis opened its 2026 college football season with a 27-21 comeback victory against UNLV on August 29 in Las Vegas. Quarterback Marcus Stokes debuted for the Tigers, completing 15 of 26 passes for 223 yards and two touchdowns while adding 45 rushing yards.
