Dar and Moreno, Creed Brothers advance in Dusty Rhodes Classic

The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is back, with 14 teams competing to win the 2026 edition of the tournament. You can see the full bracket here. It began on this week’s episode of NXT TV on The CW with a pair of matchups. They got the tournament underway with Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno vs. Los Americanos putting on an absolute tone setter of a back-and-forth battle that had the Performance Center faithful chanting “THIS IS AWESOME!” Rayo & Bravo came in as one of the teams you would think will go deep into this tourney, which made every near fall in Dar & Moreno’s favor hit so much harder. And it hit really hard when they actually got the job done. Dar & Moreno will take on the winner of Fraxiom vs. Darkstate in the quarterfinals. Later, we got an even bigger mismatch that had no chance of a surprise result. Harley Riggins and Jax Presley — despite how great their names are — were up against the Creed Brothers and trying to make a name for themselves coming over from EVOLVE. They got a moment or two of offense but the outcome was never in doubt. Sure enough, Julius & Brutus won by pinfall. They move on to the quarterfinals to take on the winner of the Shido Ash & Viktor Zanov vs. Hank & Tank first round match.
