Former Michigan State linebacker Darius Snow earned recognition as a program player of the game following his debut for Texas. The defensive player recorded one tackle during the team's victory over Texas State this past weekend. Snow transitioned to the Longhorns this offseason after spending six seasons at Michigan State, where he compiled 161 tackles and one interception over 47 appearances. He secured a seventh year of eligibility through an NCAA waiver, allowing him to compete during the 2026 season. Michael Masunas, another former Michigan State tight end, also made his first appearance for Texas during the win but did not record any receptions. The Longhorns successfully opened their season with a dominant performance against their opponents.
