NC State head football coach Dave Doeren recently shared his personal connection to the September 11 attacks as his program prepares for a commemorative home game. Doeren explained that his father was scheduled to fly on one of the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center in 2001 but missed the flight due to a transport delay. The coach spent several hours in a state of uncertainty before learning his father was safe. The team is scheduled to play the Spiders on Friday, September 11, at Carter-Finley Stadium with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
