Dave Shondell records 513th career win as Purdue volleyball defeats Texas A&M

Purdue volleyball head coach Dave Shondell secured his 513th career victory on Tuesday, surpassing Gene Keady for the most wins by any coach in the history of the university. The milestone occurred at Mackey Arena during the opening night of the Big Ten/SEC Challenge as No. 14 Purdue recorded a 3-0 victory against No. 12 Texas A&M. Keady attended the match in West Lafayette to witness the record-breaking performance. Shondell, who arrived at Purdue in 2003, previously tied Keady’s record last season during a run to the Elite Eight. The team played without All-American outside hitter Kenna Wollard, who remains sidelined due to an unspecified medical condition. Shondell, 68, signed a four-year contract extension earlier this year to continue leading the program.
