The Denver Outlaws and Philadelphia Waterdogs secured spots in the Premier Lacrosse League U.S. Bank Championship following semifinal victories on Labor Day. Denver defeated the Utah Archers 11-5 in Salt Lake City, behind four-point performances from Pat Kavanagh and Brennan O’Neill. The Archers played without captain Tom Schreiber, who reinjured his knee during warmups. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Waterdogs earned a 13-0 victory against the Boston Cannons to reach the title game. Rookie goalkeeper Sean Byrne recorded 14 saves in the win, while the team's rookie class contributed seven goals. Boston attempted a fourth-quarter rally after switching to goalkeeper Colin Kirst but could not close the gap. The two teams will meet for the league title on September 20 in Harrison, New Jersey.
