DFB congress to vote on transferring women's Bundesliga to FBL

The German Football Federation (DFB) scheduled an extraordinary congress for September 18 to finalize the transfer of the women's Bundesliga to the FBL. This session will address necessary bylaw amendments and the formal approval of a lease agreement between the two bodies. The FBL, an independent organization established late last year, is intended to oversee the top-tier league similar to the structure of the men's Bundesliga. Once approved, the FBL will gain the authority to manage broadcasting rights independently and execute future contracts. The transition is part of a plan to professionalize league management and increase its athletic and economic visibility. The FBL is slated to assume full administration of the competition effective July 1, 2027.
