Diamondbacks-Guardians game delayed due to thunderstorms in Cleveland

The Arizona Diamondbacks and Cleveland Guardians' game at Progressive Field is currently delayed due to thunderstorms in the area. The delay began shortly before the scheduled 1:40 p.m. ET first pitch, with the National Weather Service forecasting rising precipitation chances as the afternoon progresses. Tarp was deployed on the field after an altercation regarding a bunt by Arizona's Tim Tawa, who broke up Cleveland starter Gavin Williams' perfect game bid. As of 3:25 p.m., no official restart time has been announced amid continued rain and a wet infield. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo predicted a potential delay of about one hour, but weather conditions could extend that timeline, raising the possibility of a postponement if storms persist.
