Diamondbacks recall Brandon Pfaadt to start against Giants on Tuesday

The Arizona Diamondbacks are recalling Brandon Pfaadt from Triple-A Reno for a start against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday. Pfaadt previously had a 5.94 ERA this season before being optioned to the minors on June 4. The move comes amid injuries to pitchers Ryne Nelson and Michael Soroka, creating an opportunity for Pfaadt to prove himself again as a starter. There is a possibility he may have restrictions on innings pitched following his limited outing in Triple-A, where he threw just 52 pitches over 3.2 innings.
