Dodgers designate Cole Irvin for assignment during Red Sox series

Summary

The Los Angeles Dodgers have designated left-hander Cole Irvin for assignment amid their series against the Boston Red Sox. Irvin signed with the Dodgers before the 2026 season and made his debut in a relief appearance, allowing six innings in a loss. The move coincides with the placement of right-hander Will Klein on the 15-day injured list due to right elbow discomfort. The Dodgers have recalled Kyle Hurt and Wyatt Mills as part of a bullpen shuffle. Irvin's designation opens a spot on the 40-man roster, potentially for another acquisition.
