Donovan Vigo advances to top 10 of national Youth Athlete of the Year

Donovan Vigo, a 13-year-old baseball player from Springfield, Massachusetts, has advanced to the top 10 round of the 2026 Youth Athlete of the Year competition. Vigo is a utility player and right-handed pitcher who earned Gold Glove and Best Utility Player honors while competing for various local and travel teams. His athletic performance includes a strong showing this summer with the Western Mass Invaders at Cooperstown Dreams Park, where he hit four home runs during pool play. The athlete previously returned to the sport following a severe dog attack that required reconstructive surgery and extensive stitching. Voting for the current stage of the national competition concludes on Thursday, September 10. Proceeds from the voting process support the Why Not You Foundation.
