Dragons stand down Seriah Palepale following high-speed police pursuit

St George Illawarra Dragons forward Seriah Palepale has been stood down from all playing duties following her arrest on Thursday night. The 19-year-old was apprehended by police in South West Sydney after allegedly leading officers on a pursuit reaching 200km/h in a 90km/h zone. The incident ended when Palepale crashed her vehicle into a telegraph pole, though she sustained no injuries. She appeared in Campbelltown Local Court on Friday, where she pleaded guilty to four charges including dangerous driving during a police pursuit and driving with a suspended licence. The club has notified the NRL integrity unit and will cooperate with the ongoing investigation. Palepale will not be available for the Dragons' upcoming match against the Brisbane Broncos and is scheduled to return to court for sentencing on October 16.
