Eliaquim Mangala joins Ian Cathro at Saint-Étienne after retirement

Eliaquim Mangala has announced his retirement from professional football and will join Ian Cathro's backroom staff at AS Saint-Étienne. The former Manchester City defender, who became the world's most expensive defender in 2014, will be part of the club's efforts to return to Ligue 1. Mangala's management aspirations were influenced by his time under Pep Guardiola.
