Everton pursues Barcelona defender Hector Fort as transfer window opens

Everton has expressed interest in signing Barcelona defender Hector Fort, who is available this summer as the Spanish club reshapes its squad. Fort, 20, has been given permission by Barcelona to seek a new club, prompting Everton and Fulham to consider moves for him. Barcelona is open to both loan and permanent options but prefers a sale, aligning with Everton's intentions for a long-term addition. Fort's versatility across defensive positions adds to his appeal for Everton, who are seeking to strengthen their backline. The club's transfer plans may also include the potential departure of current player Nathan Patterson, further emphasizing their reconfiguration efforts.
