Fans vote for East Central Indiana high school football players of the week

The Star Press has opened voting for its East Central Indiana high school football player of the week for week three. Nine athletes are nominated for the honor, which is sponsored by IU Health. Candidates include Brady Bannister from Blackford, Aven Thomas from Delta, Caleb Sibray from Jay County, Caden Dance from Monroe Central, Mason Ferguson from Muncie Central, Christian St. John from New Castle, Ryan Hyre from Wes-Del, Joey Vasquez from Winchester Community, and Cooper Luzadder from Yorktown. The previous winner was Muncie Central's Doiron Montgomery, who received over 74 percent of the vote. The current poll remains open until Friday, September 11, at 5 p.m. Voting is limited to the online poll provided on the publication's website.
