Fantasy Premier League managers are adjusting rosters ahead of the third round of the 2026/27 campaign. Erling Haaland remains the primary focus for many, with a home match against Coventry City marking a significant opportunity for the Manchester City forward. Teammate Rayan Cherki has also emerged as a popular transfer target following a strong start to the season, leading to a rise in his market price to £7.7m. While early-season performance drives these roster moves, experts emphasize that managers should look for long-term potential rather than simply chasing points from the previous weekend. Owners are weighing whether to prioritize premium assets like Haaland or balance their squads with mid-priced players who offer consistent minutes and attacking involvement. The upcoming fixtures, particularly the matchup at the Etihad Stadium, serve as the current focal point for strategic squad changes.
- •Erling Haaland is a top captaincy candidate for Manchester City ahead of the match against Coventry City.
- •Rayan Cherki is the most transferred-in midfielder after his strong performances in the opening two weeks.
- •Rayan Cherki costs £7.7m following recent price increases.
- •Yoane Wissa is another featured transfer target among forwards for Newcastle United.
- •Managers are cautioned against knee-jerk reactions based solely on the previous weekend of results.
