FC Bayern Women set league record with win against SC Freiburg

FC Bayern Women extended their unbeaten league run to 45 matches by securing a 4–1 victory over SC Freiburg on Sunday at the FC Bayern Campus. Momoko Tanikawa opened the scoring with a long-range effort in the 18th minute, and Vanessa Gilles added a second goal before half-time. Luca Birkholz narrowed the deficit for the visitors in the 64th minute, but second-half goals from Klara Bühl and a second from Tanikawa sealed the win for coach José Barcala's side. The match also saw the return of Sarah Zadrazil, who played her first minutes since sustaining an ACL injury against the same opponent nearly a year ago. The result maintains Bayern's perfect start to the season with three wins from three matches. The team travels to face Bayer 04 Leverkusen on September 14 before hosting 1. FC Köln on September 19.
