Florida football returns key talent for 2026 defensive line and JACK positions

Florida enters the 2026 season with nearly 60% of its defensive-line snaps returning from the previous year. Defensive line coach Gerald Chatman, the only assistant retained by head coach Jon Sumrall, faces the task of improving the team’s SEC ranking in sacks and run defense. The defensive front relies on a rotation featuring Jayden Woods at the JACK position, Brendan Bett at nose tackle, and a three-way competition at defensive end between Kamran James, LJ McCray, and Emmanuel Oyebadejo.
