Florida's top schools seek talent outside the state amid local losses

Florida, Florida State, and Miami are increasing their focus on out-of-state recruits as top players leave for schools like Texas A&M. Currently, four of the top five prospects in the USA TODAY Florida Top 100 have committed to Texas A&M, while just seven of the top 25 choose in-state schools. Miami and Florida are actively pursuing talent from states such as California and Alabama. Miami has secured commitments from several top players outside Florida, including a key flip from a Georgia commitment and two highly regarded Alabama prospects. Florida has also attracted players from other states, with their top-ranked commitments complementing their local recruits.
