Former Georgia tight end Wix Patton debuts at AEW show in Athens

Former University of Georgia football player Wix Patton is set to make his professional wrestling debut in Athens on September 9. The event, titled Rebel Heart Dynamite, will be held at Akins Ford Arena with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. Patton, who previously transitioned from football to a touring music career, has spent recent years training in bodybuilding and powerlifting to reach his current weight of approximately 300 pounds. His entry into the sport followed a public call-out of former Georgia teammate Elijah Holyfield, who currently competes in WWE. Patton intends to incorporate elements of his Bulldogs background into his wrestling persona for the homecoming appearance.
