Former NFL wide receiver Arthur Marshall dies at 57

Arthur Marshall, a former wide receiver for the Denver Broncos and New York Giants, died Wednesday at 57 following a battle with stomach cancer. A University of Georgia standout, Marshall entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 1992. Over five professional seasons, he recorded 87 receptions for 1,267 yards and four touchdowns. Beyond his receiving duties, Marshall completed both of his career pass attempts for touchdowns, including an 81-yard completion in 1992. His post-football life involved a 2009 arrest on fraud charges, which led to a 2010 conviction and a prison sentence of 69 months. He was ordered to pay more than $3.6 million in restitution following his federal case.
