Formula 1 returns to Autodromo Nazionale Monza for the Italian Grand Prix

Formula 1 heads to the Autodromo Nazionale Monza this weekend for the Italian Grand Prix. The historic circuit features an 11-turn, 5.793km layout that requires drivers to complete 53 laps for a total race distance of 306.72km. As a high-speed venue, cars remain at full throttle for approximately 80% of each lap, reaching maximum velocity on the 1.1km start/finish straight. Drivers must navigate four designated Straight Mode zones and manage power via the new Overtake Mode, which replaces the former Drag Reduction System. The circuit, which opened in September 1922, has been a permanent fixture of the Formula 1 World Championship since its inaugural 1950 season. Teams will utilize the track's low-downforce requirements to navigate tight chicanes and the challenging Parabolica, now known as Curva Alboreto.
