Fort Walton Beach and South Walton open district play with victories

Fort Walton Beach began its District 1-4A schedule with a 28-0 win against Milton at Steve Riggs Stadium on Friday. The Vikings relied on a defensive performance that contained Milton’s option attack, supplemented by scores from Elijah Donson, Cannon Wilbur, and Bryson Gay. Elsewhere in district play, South Walton moved to 1-0 in District 1-3A after defeating Pensacola 31-12. Walton remained undefeated at 3-0 following a 50-13 win over Taylor County, marking the team’s third consecutive game with a running clock. Other area results included Blountstown defeating Baker 38-22 and Freeport maintaining an offensive streak with a 49-33 victory against North Florida Christian. Crestview remains winless after a 28-7 loss to Tate.
