During the opening day of the 2026 MLB Draft on July 11, four players from UNC baseball were selected. Shortstop Jake Schaffner went 20th overall to the Boston Red Sox, making history as the program's 27th first-round pick. Outfielder Owen Hull joined Schaffner in Boston, picked in the second round, while pitchers Jason DeCaro and Ryan Lynch were picked by the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres, respectively.
