Frank Lampard set to extend contract with Coventry City
Summary

Frank Lampard is expected to extend his contract with Coventry City this summer, ensuring he will lead the team into their opening Premier League match against Arsenal on August 21. The club's talks for a new long-term deal with Lampard are progressing, as he currently has one year left on his existing agreement. Coventry, promoted after winning the Championship, will kick off the Premier League season against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. This marks their first match in the top flight since promotion. What they're saying

With it now looking increasingly likely that Frank Lampard will remain at Coventry City, this could prove to be one of the best bits of business the club pulls off this summer. Since his arrival in November 2024, the Sky Blues have taken huge strides on and off the pitch, and the relationship between the chairman and the gaffer appears stronger than ever. A new contract would only reinforce that and strongly suggests Doug King has met Lampard's expectations around this year's transfer budget.
