Funeral arrangements set for former Red Sox manager Joe Morgan

The family of former Boston Red Sox and Pawtucket Red Sox manager Joe Morgan has announced funeral arrangements following his death on September 5 at age 95. A wake is scheduled for Thursday, September 17, at Delaney Funeral Home in Walpole, Massachusetts, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Friday, September 18, at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole. Morgan spent 18 years within the Boston organization as a manager, coach, and scout. He famously led the 1988 Red Sox to an American League East championship after taking over during the season. His tenure also included managing the Pawtucket Red Sox for nine seasons, where he oversaw the development of several notable players and managed the club during the historic 33-inning game in 1981.
