Gabe Worrell earns reader choice player of the week honors

Cranford senior Gabe Worrell received the Big Central Conference Readers’ Choice Football Player of the Week honor following his performance on September 4. Worrell contributed on both offense and defense during the Cougars' 31-24 win over Bernards. He rushed for 172 yards on 16 carries, including a 77-yard touchdown run, and recorded nine tackles in the victory. The win ended a 32-game winning streak for Bernards within the Big Central Conference. Coach Erik Rosenmeier cited Worrell’s role as senior captain and his work in a competitive backfield as key factors for his production early in the season. Cranford is currently preparing for its upcoming games in the next stage of the local football schedule.
