Golden Tempo aims for Breeders' Cup spot in Saturday's Travers
Summary

Golden Tempo is set to compete in the Grade I Travers at Saratoga this Saturday. The $1.25 million race, known as the "Midsummer Derby," offers a vital chance for the 3-year-old colts to secure year-end honors and a potential Breeders' Cup spot. Golden Tempo faces stiff competition from notable contenders such as Renegade, who placed second in the Kentucky Derby, and other Triple Crown veterans. The weekend includes several high-stakes races, including three others with purses of $1 million or more, enhancing the stakes for all participants. This represents one of the last prime opportunities for 3-year-olds to race against their peers before facing older competitors in future events.
