Grand Forks Red River pitcher Jocelyn Berg commits to Mercer

College SportsGrand Forks Red River senior pitcher Jocelyn Berg has committed to play college softball at Mercer in Macon, Georgia. A right-handed pitcher, Berg reopened her recruiting process following a coaching change at UAB, where she was previously committed. She visited the Southern Conference program in early August and met with head coach Chris Kuhlmeyer to discuss the team's culture and academic opportunities. Berg enters her senior high school season following back-to-back North Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year honors. Last season, she recorded a 1.48 ERA with 189 strikeouts and a.587 batting average for the Roughriders. She also competed this year for the Iowa Premier 18U travel team to maintain her development before beginning her collegiate career.
