Hamilton residents celebrate West Side Little League team's historic tournament run

Hundreds of supporters gathered in Hamilton on Monday, September 7, to honor the West Side Little League team following its appearance in the Little League World Series. The parade traveled from the league's Eaton Avenue complex to a ceremony at RiversEdge Amphitheater, where Mayor Pat Moeller recognized the team's achievements with individual proclamations. The squad secured a spot in the U.S. championship game after winning the Great Lakes Regional and surviving five elimination games. During the championship round on August 29 in South Williamsport, the team fell to Nevada 12-2 before finishing fourth overall after a loss to Japan in the consolation game. Coaches Tim Nichting and Ken Coomer praised the players for their character and performance on the world stage. Each player was introduced to the crowd with their specific walk-up songs during the event.
