The Houston Rockets will compete against the Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, and Utah Jazz in the group stage of the upcoming NBA Cup. Group play is scheduled to occur every Friday from October 30 through November 27. The elimination phase will follow, beginning December 4, culminating in the championship game on December 11 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indiana. Last season, the Rockets finished third in their group with a 2-2 record, being eliminated after losses to the San Antonio Spurs and the Nuggets.
