Inter Milan prepares to defend its Serie A title against newly-promoted Monza on Saturday. Coach Cristian Chivu, who previously oversaw only 13 matches in Serie A, significantly revitalized the team, leading them to a league and cup double last season. The club has added English players Djed Spence and John Stones and is close to signing Curtis Jones. Meanwhile, Napoli, now led by Massimiliano Allegri, seeks to mount a stronger challenge after battling injuries last season. Como, coming off a surprise fourth-place finish and its first Champions League qualification, looks to continue its remarkable rise in Italian soccer.
