Jacob Fatu interrupts WWE Raw women’s championship match with promo
Summary

Monday Night Raw opened with a physical confrontation in the parking lot involving The Usos, Royce Keys, and OTM. The encounter left The Usos significantly injured, prompting a segment featuring Jacob Fatu. As a women’s Intercontinental championship match between Sol Ruca and Raquel Rodriguez was set to begin, Fatu emerged and interrupted the proceedings. He stood on the announcer’s table to deliver a profanity-laden address aimed at Royce Keys and OTM. Fatu challenged the group, questioning their actions toward his associates and threatening retaliation for the backstage attack. The intervention effectively halted the championship bout as Fatu demanded a confrontation with his opponents.

What they're saying

Danger Zone OH MY GOD 😱 Royce Keys and OTM have brutally attacked The Usos backstage! pic.twitter.com/oaJmZbBQT1 — WWE (@WWE) September 1, 2026 Raw was short but sweet this week, so I will follow their lead. Royce Keys & OTM don’t have an official name yet but they’re making one for themselves through solid storytelling. WWE is relying on actions from the crew and words from others to show these cats mean business. To call a beatdown “simple” feels weird but it was. WWE needed a credible follow up to last week’s debut for this crew. Assaulting The Usos before the show truly starts is a great way to do that. They not only beat the twins bloody but did so while wearing Timbs and Jordan 12s. As always, I salute the footwear. And they bounced like thieves in the night before Jacob Fatu could avenge his cousins. Which brings me to the second major point: Jacob sold big time for them. Besides his expletive-filled rant (more on that later), it was the fear in his eyes and the words he told Roman Reigns: If they thought Jacob was a problem, then wait till they have to deal with Royce. Jacob said his former friend is on another tip right now, one he hasn’t seen since they were younger. The OTC has spoken! ☝️@WWERomanReigns pic.twitter.com/0uSMACKz8Q — WWE (@WWE) September 1, 2026 When the crazy guy in the crew who usually fears no man is shook, even a little, that says a lot. I still don’t know what to call these guys but I’m getting more interested in their story just from this very brief but effective appearance this week. Keep rocking those Jordans, boys! B-Sides I have a very big bone to pick with the territory as it relates to Raw’s opening match. Not with the match itself but with Jacob Fatu interrupting the start of the match. Don’t get me wrong. The opening with Royce Keys’ crew giving The Usos that work was awesome. It further established their crew while illustrating they’re a major threat for The Bloodline. Jacob interrupting the beginning of the woman’s match is where the bone needs picking. Devoting time to The Bloodline story before a match in the women’s division automatically makes them seem secondary. The Judgment Day’s beef with Sol Ruca is a big deal in Raw’s women’s division. Lyra Valkyria’s involvement matters as well. But in that moment, it looked like an afterthought. To say nothing of the optics of a man throwing his weight around to interrupt women. Keep these things separate or wait until Jacob does his rant then let the women come to the ring after things calm down. As for the match itself? Short and very physical. I looked at the spoilers because I’m a good solider who reads Cagesideseats.com—as you should—so I knew Raquel Rodriguez defeated Sol. I liked seeing Lyra Valkyria involved in the finish. It continues this jealousy thing she has going, and clearly doesn’t like anyone getting something she feels is owed to her. Sol defeated her fair and square, which meant it was time for a heel to do heel things. Sol survived Roxanne Perez & Liv Morgan in the match’s last seconds, but Lyra struck right when the former Intercontinental Champ went for a Sol Snatcher. Sol never saw it coming as Lyra pushed her right into a Tejana Bomb. Sol may get her rematch but she’s got to deal with Lyra first. Oh, before I forget: Netflix blurring out bloodstains and bloody faces is wack. That is all. The other Roman story this episode revolved around LA. Knight (yeah!). Roman started his promo giving Penta & Rey Fenix their props before getting to Mr. Knight. LA didn’t like the line, but I chuckled at Roman saying to Solo Sikoa that he knows LA reminds him of The Rock, but he’s not family. Seriously, that was funny. Thankfully, LA, unlike a lot of other wrestlers, actually watches the program while he’s in the locker room. It didn’t take long for him to get to the ring and confront the man he calls the “one true coward,” which is a spin on “OTC” that I never thought of. I like the tension between these two, which is really helped by LA’s energy. Roman is usually too cool for school but LA always brings some fire. He gets Roman out of sorts a bit with that energy. That happened a bit here but it quickly didn’t matter because the production truck just so happened to put footage on the tron of Solo possibly bleeding. I say possibly because Netflix just didn’t want us to know. LA rushed to the back, confronted Jacob—who Roman told earlier to “handle” some problems—only for Roman to sucker Superman Punch the Megastar. The Superman Punch looks great in a wrestling context but extremely corny outside of that. Roman would look a lot cooler just running up on LA and knocking him out with a regular loaded fist to the dome. Or wrapping that big gold chain around his fist for a bit more oomph. Je’Von Evans vs. Dirty Dom turned into, well, a tag match with Dirty Dom & JD McDonagh vs. Je’Von & Joe Hendry. This despite no one saying Joe’s name, which I find extremely offensive. It’s a bait and switch! The man’s theme says “say his name and he appears.” I don’t recall anyone saying his name in quite a while yet he keeps appearing. Make it make sense! Judgement Day won the day thanks to chicanery, again, but Joe’s strength really impressed me. He not only executed a delayed Vertical Suplex for what felt like 5 minutes, but also carried both members of Judgment Day into a Fallaway Slam. I’m not sure if they’ve quite figured out how to use the man, but his power is awesome. Thankfully, Je’Von didn’t take the pin here with Joe doing the favors. No Big Cass citing this week. You’d think he’d have some type of spotlight or follow-up after defeating Je’Von. Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer seemingly came to an understanding. Seemingly being the operative word. La Primera interrupted The Man’s interview to thank her for her help, but also question it. Becky, showing the depth afforded to someone who plays heel and face so well, admitted that she gained some respect for the former champ. Anyone willing to battle three people by themselves certainly earned some admiration from Becky. This set up a future title match between the two, as Becky stated she’d rather take the belt off Stephanie than Liv aka Ms. Vaquer is a more deserving champ. That’s a compliment from Becky. Penta is the new number one contender. And whew did he earn it. Brother vs. Brother lived up to my expectations. Penta and Rey started fast and never let up. They didn’t feel each other out, thankfully, and as brothers, they shouldn’t have to. It was fast and furious—shoutout to the Family—with counters and innovative offense. They didn’t get as much time as I wanted though. Raw felt very quick this week as a whole, but these two did a lot with a little. I don’t know if it was intentional, but the matches in this tournament got faster as the stakes increased. Brother against brother was the right call for the final as it told the story of two men who know each other incredibly well, but also may hold back just a tad. The last moments hit on that latter note when Rey, with an injured arm and on his knees, beckoned his brother to bring it. Penta looked conflicted but eventually went for it but Rey countered with a hellacious Hurricanrana. That woke up Penta, who finished the match with a seismic Mexican Destroyer. Oh, and we got this just as a normal thing during the match. This led to a face off between Mr. Tribal Chief and Penta. As I said last week, I am really looking forward to this. It will challenge both men and I can’t wait to see how Roman adapts to a style he hasn’t faced in many moons. Raw wasn’t live this week but WWE didn’t take off a night. This was a solid outing and efficient outing thet emphasised the danger that is Royce Keys & OTM. While actually seeing the carnage would’ve helped, I got the gist of it, despite Netflix being overly sensitive with the censoring. We got solid matches, a fantastic main event, and a prelude to a hopefully successful Sunday’s Main Event. Consider me satisfied. What say you, Cagesiders? What should we call Royce & OTM? Wrong answers only!

This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw kicked off with Royce Keys & OTM meeting The Usos in the parking lot, dragging them from their vehicle, and leaving them in such a bloody heap Netflix blurred their faces. It was one hell of an angle to start the show with! Next up was supposed to be the Sol Ruca vs. Raquel Rodriguez match for the women’s Intercontinental championship but Jacob Fatu came rushing out to cut it off, hop on the announcer’s table, and start yelling through a profanity laced promo: .@jacobfatu_wwe with a PASSIONATE response to Royce Keys and OTM after they attacked The Usos backstage! 🤯 CHAOS!!! pic.twitter.com/U8KScLGcf1 — WWE (@WWE) September 1, 2026 “Royce Keys, you and your bitch ass partners trying to back door my brothers? Y’all know me. You know the type of time I’m on. Y’all want war, huh? Y’all want war with The Bloodline? Y’all want war with us? Well, line it all up cause I’m about to dog walk all three of you motherf—kers.” This is actually a tremendously fantastic angle, I just wish they didn’t cut off a women’s match in order to do it. They could have accomplished the same thing without making a literal title match look secondary like this. Thoughts on the promo?
