The North Sydney Bears have finalized contract extensions for players Jake Toby and Matt Stimson for the 2027 season. Both individuals serve as core members of the club’s leadership group and will continue their tenures as the organization prepares for its role as a feeder side for the upcoming NRL outfit. Toby, a fullback, produced nine tries and 16 try assists in 15 appearances this year and will gain the opportunity to train with the team's NRL side during the 2027 preseason. Stimson has also contributed significantly with nine tries across 21 games and is set to reach 100 NSW Cup appearances during the current finals series. The Bears finished second on the ladder during the 2026 regular season with a record of 16 wins and six losses. The club faces the Newcastle Knights at Jubilee this Saturday.
