La Liga president Javier Tebas is calling for FIFA president Gianni Infantino to step down. Following Infantino's recent essay addressing criticisms of his leadership, Tebas labeled the response as 'pathetic' and emphasized the need for transparency and good governance. Despite his criticisms, Infantino, who has faced ongoing scrutiny after overseeing controversial World Cups, is unlikely to be removed due to FIFA's governance structure favoring smaller nations. Human rights organization FairSquare has filed a complaint against Infantino for potential breaches of political neutrality, which FIFA's Ethics Committee has yet to address.
