Minnesota Golden Gophers wide receiver Javon Tracy returned two punts for touchdowns during Thursday's season-opening game against Eastern Illinois at Huntington Bank Stadium. Tracy became the first player in Minnesota history to record two punt return touchdowns in a single game. This performance also allowed him to tie the program's career record for punt return touchdowns. Before this game, Tracy had not recorded a return touchdown at any level of his collegiate career. Entering his second season with the Golden Gophers, Tracy previously played at Miami (Ohio) where he established himself as a primary receiving threat. The receiver is the brother of New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr.
