AEW Dynamite is underway at Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia, on September 16, 2026. Chris Jericho is set to compete against Nick Wayne in their first-ever singles match. Jericho previously faced Kevin Knight for the TNT Championship on August 12. "Tonight’s (Sept. 16) episode of AEW Dynamite featured a singles match between 55-year-old Chris Jericho and 21-year-old Nick Wayne. The two stars went back and forth in the ring, kicking out of each other’s signature moves like The Codebreaker and Wayne’s World. The finish actually came down to Wayne’s puka shell necklace getting pulled off his neck by Jericho. The young prodigy was distraught over what happened to his prized possession, and that distraction allowed babyface Jericho to wrap him up for a three count. All it took was a momentary lack of focus from @TheNickWayne for @IAmJericho to capitalize!
