Ross has been recovering from brain surgery and a fall that occurred earlier this summer, which kept him hospitalized for 27 days. While he stated that he is currently capable of interpreting and articulating the action during matches, he remains focused on improving his physical stability for travel. AEW President Tony Khan has maintained a supportive role throughout the recovery process but has not confirmed if Ross will be ready for the event. Ross expressed a preference for the shorter flight to the Chicago-area venue to aid in his potential comeback.
