During an interview with Metro, Cena explained that the cinematic Firefly Fun House match served as a meta-journey where he confronted his personal demons before deciding to let go. Wyatt emerged victorious in that contest, which took place during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this earlier retirement thought, Cena continued his wrestling career for several more years. He officially retired from the ring at the Saturday Night's Main Event late last year after losing to GUNTHER.
