John Harbaugh names rookie Dominic Zvada starting kicker for New York Giants

New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh has selected undrafted rookie Dominic Zvada as the team's starting kicker for the upcoming NFL season. Zvada secured the roster spot following a competition against Ben Sauls that spanned from spring workouts through the conclusion of the preseason. Harbaugh expressed confidence in the rookie despite his own previous experience coaching a rookie kicker in Baltimore whose late-game miss contributed to the end of his tenure with the Ravens. Zvada, who made all five of his field goal attempts during the preseason, worked with a mental performance coach to prepare for the transition to the professional level. With no other kickers currently on the roster or practice squad, Zvada is expected to handle placekicking duties for the Giants as the regular season begins.
