Jonathan Clauss steps down as OGC Nice captain, Axel Witsel appointed

Jonathan Clauss has relinquished the captaincy of OGC Nice, with Axel Witsel named as his replacement. Clauss made the decision before the team's Ligue 1 match against Lille OSC, where Nice secured a 2-1 victory. Coach Olivier Pantaloni praised Clauss for his honesty in admitting he did not feel suited for the role. Witsel, an experienced player who joined the club this summer, takes over the armband following Clauss's request and discussions with the team.
