Jose Canseco calls for consistency in Baseball Hall of Fame voting

Former player Jose Canseco has renewed his public criticism regarding the inclusion of players linked to performance-enhancing drugs in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Canseco stated that MLB should either admit all individuals who used such substances or none at all, citing the induction of several players he claims used PEDs. According to Canseco, many players during his era used substances to maintain stamina and strength over a grueling 162-game schedule rather than for aesthetic muscle gain. He previously voiced similar concerns regarding the induction of Tim Raines, Jeff Bagwell, and Iván Rodríguez. The former outfielder argued that the current standard for eligibility is hypocritical and urged league leadership to address the discrepancy regarding players like Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Roger Clemens, and Barry Bonds.
