Judge rules Deion Sanders will not testify in Shilo Sanders bankruptcy trial

Colorado football coach Deion Sanders is no longer required to testify at the bankruptcy trial for his son, Shilo Sanders. Judge Michael Romero issued the ruling as the proceeding entered its final stages, determining that testimony from the coach is not necessary for the rebuttal phase. Shilo Sanders, a former Colorado football player, is seeking to discharge $12 million in debt stemming from a 2016 lawsuit filed by John Darjean. Darjean, a former security guard, accused Shilo Sanders of assault during a 2015 incident at Focus Learning Academy. While Deion Sanders had been directed to be available for remote testimony, the judge decided against it based on the progression of the evidence presented since August 31. A verdict is expected after the conclusion of the trial.
