Kansas City Chiefs release cornerback Kaiir Elam

The Kansas City Chiefs released cornerback Kaiir Elam on Sunday following the team's preseason and training camp sessions. Elam, a 25-year-old former first-round pick of the Buffalo Bills, joined the Chiefs earlier this year. His tenure in Kansas City ends due to a crowded position group despite his performance during training camp. Selected 23rd overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, Elam has spent time with the Bills, Dallas Cowboys, and Tennessee Titans during his professional career. He appeared in limited capacity for the Cowboys last season before his release in November and subsequent stint with the Titans. The cornerback is now a free agent and must look for a new team to continue his NFL career.
