Kansas prepares to host LIU in 2026 football season opener

Kansas football opens its 2026 campaign on Friday, Sept. 4, by hosting LIU at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in Lawrence. The kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CT), with the game set for broadcast on ESPNU and streaming on ESPN+. Head coach Lance Leipold leads the Jayhawks into the matchup, which serves as the debut for new starting quarterback Isaiah Marshall. LIU enters the contest following a 42-21 loss to North Dakota in its own season opener.
