Las Vegas Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak stated there is no immediate rush to name a starting quarterback for the upcoming NFL season. This comes after a preseason game against the Houston Texans in which rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza struggled, completing 8-of-15 passes for 86 yards and throwing an interception returned for a touchdown. Kubiak indicated the competition is ongoing between Mendoza and veteran Kirk Cousins, who performed solidly in the first preseason game. The Raiders will face the San Francisco 49ers in their final preseason matchup on August 27.
