Kyle Freeland reached a career milestone by recording his 1,000th strikeout during the Colorado Rockies' 4-3 win against the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 19 at Coors Field. Freeland pitched 7.1 innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out eight. The Rockies took a 2-0 lead early, but the game turned in the eighth inning when the Pirates rallied to briefly tie the game at 3-3. Colorado responded with a two-run rally in the bottom of the eighth to secure the win. The series continues with another matchup on Saturday night featuring Pirates starter Paul Skenes.
