Kylian Mbappe, the France captain, has pledged to enhance his defensive contributions as France prepares for their World Cup match against Senegal on Tuesday. Criticized for his leadership and defensive efforts, Mbappe is determined to improve in these areas. Teammate Ousmane Dembele supported him, asserting that recent criticisms were excessive. The 27-year-old, moving from PSG to Real Madrid in 2024, has faced challenges in his second season, ranking low in defensive statistics. As he aims to elevate his game, Mbappe is on track to match Olivier Giroud as France's all-time top scorer with his next goal in the tournament. France will also compete against Iraq and Norway during the group stage.
