La Salle defeats North Kingstown in football season opener

La Salle opened its football season with a 34-7 victory over North Kingstown on Friday night in Providence. The win marked the first game of the regular season on the Rhode Island Interscholastic League calendar. La Salle’s offensive production included two touchdown passes from Sam Perry to Jalen Moseley and two rushing touchdowns by Aiden Wilson. Thomas Welsh contributed to the score with a 97-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown. North Kingstown’s only points came from a 45-yard touchdown pass from Nick Stafford to Mark Swistak. La Salle is scheduled to host Eagle Academy II next Friday, while North Kingstown travels to play Central on September 12.
