Lake Worth High School football forfeits back-to-back games due to roster shortage

Lake Worth High School forfeited two consecutive football games after the Palm Beach County district athletic office determined the team lacked enough players to compete safely. The Trojans, coached by first-year leader LeVon Barnett Jr., were limited to 14 players for a game against Santaluces and would have had 16 available for a contest against Dr. Joaquin Garcia. The district deemed these numbers insufficient for 11-on-11 play, forcing the team to cancel both matchups. This shortage comes during a transition period for the school, which recently hired a new principal and athletic director, Tate Rowan. The program is currently 0-4 as it attempts to rebuild its roster, with Barnett expecting the team to expand to 25 players soon. Lake Worth is scheduled to play Dwyer next week if the roster size meets district standards.
